Winter carp are not just slower moving about they are much lazier feeding, rarely getting their heads down . Opportunist rather than heavy feeding, a wafter among bottom baits ,either match the hatch or stand out baits , it needs to go in the mouth with little effort.
We here at Viper Tackle have worked hard to find the right way to get that small hook to hold well. The size 8 Offset Crank Chod has been smashing it for me.
This tiny hook has taken some great winter carp for me this year including a 25lbs common a 27lbs common and a stunning 22lbs mirror with many others too.
Try some smaller sharper hook patterns through the winter and increase your catch rate.. Give it a go.. Bob
